The buck and a doe walked in on the last night of the hunt. I had many oportunities for a shot at the doe, but I waited for the buck. He stepped out and I dropped him. Clean through the heart. I made my gun safe, lit a smoke, (which I never do on the stand, but last night and all). Reached down and opened my pack, after a quick search I found my radio. I even got the call to camp in. It was then I noticed that the doe had been standing, watching me the whole time. I grabbed my gun, still surprised it had fired, being a 770. I pushed the magazine in and the sound of the bolt is what finally spooked her.
