slow update this year as I was busy.
Anyhow, my ex's dad & grandpa were the only ones there on this trip. The weather was great, we were worried it would be to hot to have the deer hanging but it never got past 5 degrees in the shade during the day and it always hit into the negatives at night.
Well, we went to our typical spot past cache creek, bc. This year was just as much fun as the last, filled our tags in the first 2 days, so we spent a lot of time looking for immature bull moose, but no luck this year, just a big bull. Also saw like 5 bears but I did not like the size of them so no shooting.
Here are some pics, not too many since it was just me with the camera and I did not think to take more.
On the Hwy-1 near Spences Bridge, BC. Some mountain sheep. The scenery looks a bit like a desert. Plus kinda hot for October, lol...
Me and my deer. Not a good pic, but the deer was BIG. The rack was ok, 3x2 but hey I don't eat the antlers
, so I don't care, there was a lot of meat on that one.
Our new and improved, cooking and dining area (we slept in the camper). Those wood burning stoves are really worth their weight in gold. Makes sitting around the 'campfire' a bit safer when the woods are as dry as they were, and it radiates a ton of heat.
My ex's dad and his nice mulie. Nothing huge with the rack again, but good eating it'll be.
Mandatory scenery pics that I love to take. Here is a doe and fawn, just chilling and eating some bc grass. I like the way the clouds look in that pic.
Closing time for hunting.
Love the sky & the moon. Another meadow where my hunting partners were still hunting. The thing is not really a meadow per say, rather a huge old clearcut that spreads for four kilometers. Did not see deer there, just bear.
My fave pic, makes me smile, the morning of shooting my deer, so good memories. Thought it was gonna get overexposed but it turned out pretty decent.
Enjoy the pics. I am heading back to the area in Novemeber to (hopefully) fill my Mule Doe tag. Seeing how many deer I saw, it should not be a problem, but hey, knock on wood. I'll be sure to take some nice snow covered pics.
Cheers & good hunting,
Alex
