Overtime was cancelled today so thought it would be a good morning to try out the .257 Weatherby. Only had factory 87 grainers to play with. After dialing the scope in, not too bad of a first group. Will play with the 120 grain Noslers and try and tighten that up. Yes Bartell, you were right in regards to the trigger being a little suspect. I'll get by till i can maybe put a Timney in.

My 257 was a little picky on what it liked, but was extremely accurate with the 120gr Noslers, that is the load I emailed you earlier. The factory loads I tried were nothing special. I could put 5 shots in 3/4" grouping regularly, as long as you don't let the barrel get too hot, with the 120gr Noslers. I also found it very accurate with the 75gr V-max....

No brass anywhere dude.:D QUOTE]

Mark, said in the most polite way possible...are you crazy?!? :D

Use 264 Win, or 7 mag brass my friend. Run it through your die and you're good to go. The shoulder will fireform slightly the first firing. The WW (my favourite) or RP stuff will also be much harder than the factory Wby stuff, and allow you to get higher velocities and more imporantly longer case life as the primer pocket won't expand nearly as fast. The resulting brass will be about 50 thou shorter than factory Wby stuff but that doesn't really matter.

In a 257 Wby and 3 270 Wby's all I ever used was WW 264 brass. Trust me...
