Great looking rifle.
What work did the Dr. do on your little .25?

The 44 was completely refinished ;
reblued barrel , breech , trigger & all parts.
colour case hardened receiver & butt plate
refinished butt & fore stocks
rebuilt & adjusted extractor & trigger , bushings

Shoots and cycles flawlessly , trigger pull @ just over 500 gr

Any more info should come from Dr. Rex in Sask.

I appreciate the nice comments. I like the name gun doctor, some might say that is a better use of my Ph.D.!! I have been building and restoring mostly antique rifles for many years now but only as a hobby. I do some wheeling and dealing to keep my safe full of projects. I sold a couple Stevens to Skwerl so I was happy to help him out a bit with this little project.

Stevens are fun projects as they can still be found at a reasonable price and can be made into nice rifles. I would encourage interested people to try your hand at this type of gunsmithing. There is a lot more information available now on how to do this stuff than there ever has been before and it is doable.
