Back in Stock: Alliant Reloder TS15.5 & Reloder 50 | $115.99

I remember when I was able to get powders for 8.99 …hell I still have some bottles with the price tags on them ..8.99…..12.99….16.99…..36.99
Times have changed ….i guess it’s time for manufacturers to rape the consumer…..those who can will still buy the others will just fade out

Supply and demand. When powder manufacturers have ammo manufacturers scrambling for powder to supply wars in Europe and the Middle East the retail customer is left high and dry.

Alliant said they weren't making powder for the commercial market for the time being at one point last year, I wonder if this is old stock or if they're back to making commercial stuff? I hope it's the latter, haven't seen RL17 in years at this point...

WOW...new production Aliant ????? Or just released old stock ???? Either way, a very welcome sign, but the cost now sucks !!

The Hodgdon reps at the SHOT Show stated that their military contract is up the end of this yr...Hopes of seeing some of the unobtanium powders once again in 2026 ! All we can do is hope I guess, not holding my breath tho !

Shocking when you look at all the various venders sitesFor almost everything now, 100 bucks a lb is the norm...still hard to grasp when a feller was paying 49 a lb covid era. Glad I stocked up on what I could for rifles, pistols and specialty shotgun loads back then !

Still a bit of Tite Group around, that's what everyone switched to since the powder depressions started during the UK/RU war effort.
Thankfully, Tite Group and a few others are still available for us, and it comes and goes on a pretty regular basis...we got a couple of 8 lb kegs of that and Perfect Pattern from Hummason's a few weeks ago

Ive been handloading for close to fifty years now and I thoroughly enjoy building my own ammo as much as I ever have. But I am very glad and fortunate that I built up a stash of components over those years because at today's prices for same I'm not sure if I would continue on handloading. At 130.00 plus a pound taxes in plus shipping, plus big increases in bullets and primers the cost of handloading is at the peak of my comfort zone if I had to purchase at current retail prices for all my component requirements.

If you think reloading prices are bad, factory ammo prices continue to be worse.

And innovation in the powder market means that old standbys that we were used to using and had well-developed loads for drop by the wayside and become unobtainable, as meanwhile new powders appear that would need load development for us to do yet as they offer easier metering or better temperature stability or just save the makers some pennies per ton.
