Back in the holster: Sport shooting, 3-Gun, and the ban on assault-style rifles

I'm a little fired up today because that liberal sh!thead MP called the Taliban their "Brothers".

So this article called me "Apoplectic gun owner". I had to look that up since I'm a regular idiot: "overcome with anger; extremely indignant." I'm not overcome. I'm patient, and I know how to break a shot.

equivalent of sniper training
If I were one of those, with knowledge of that, and could completely refute that, would this Blake Brown psycho courteously correct himself? I assume not.

Competitors carry multiple magazines so they can reload and fire as rapidly as possible
yep because Canadian Law requires 5 round rifle and 10 round pistol. Obviously you'll need to reload.

competition will make you a better shot under pressure, when it counts
Yes. Exactly. Would you rather I miss my targets and not be able to handle stressful situations? If so, take a hike and leave the bear spray behind since the bears don't bite.

Origins marked by racism
You can cry wolf only so many times. Shot clocks can't tell skin color. Next.

some crap about a magazine published a million years ago blah blah blah. Maybe this was the point of the "article"? What's next a mein kampf or communist manifesto comparison?

The Canadian Historical Arms Society, based in Edmonton, claims to operate the “the most active monthly 3 gun league in Canada.
Hell yes, these guys run great and challenging courses. So far, zero fatalities, and zero injuries. Minus Egos. Those get hurt badly.

3-Gun is not, of course, the first shooting event with martial origins. In the 1860s, men practised long-range rifle fire in the belief that a well-trained cadre of “citizen-soldiers” could defeat a larger enemy force. Like 3-Gun events today, rifle shooting competitions were celebrated as opportunities to get fresh air, test one’s nerve, and experience comradeship. Citizens took part in exhibitions of rifle shooting that allowed men to develop martial skills without having to experience the devastating effects of rifle fire on human bodies (that painful lesson would be learned by many citizens in the First World War)
Not bad. These are good and positive things. Are they trying to convince otherwise? So, it's better to have stale air and get no physical or mental exercise? haha

3-Gun teaches skills valued in modern urban combat. It hones the ability of men and women to move quickly around obstacles and fire at targets at relatively short distances. These skills are useful for tactical police officers responding to active school shooters. Unfortunately, the victims of mass shooters are the ones who most fully appreciate the dangers of modern firearms wielded by skilled gunmen.
This is an interesting point. Now that I think about it, that's awesome for anybody. Being able to quickly move around the house without smashing my head or toes on things is great. Home is where most personal injuries take place. Further to that, if someone one is using firearms in a mass shooting, it's much better that more people know what to expect. If I had to hide from or run away from that situation, 3gun will definitely have taught something in way of defending myself from that. That is amazing. I want everyone to do 3gun now just for that knowledge alone. Maybe less sh!theads like that NB guy would be inclined to do what they did if they knew more people knew what to do to stop them or at least get away.

The points he made are painted in a light that they are negative. I just don't see it, and I like to keep my critical thinking cap on.

Imagine banning all martial-arts classes based on the belief that everyone who takes a class will suddenly become a wife-beater.

This is about that stupid.
