Man it has been a long time since I have had a 22 I forgot how much fun they are. I picked up a 1 year old 10/22 locally from a guy who seemed desperate to get rid of it. He paid 299 plus taxes last march and then I got 2 30 round mag's as well as ammo. I ended up paying 175 for everything. Well I stripped it and cleaned it top to bottom today and headed out to try it. It has a 4x scope on it and at 25 yards I can rapid fire it for a sub 4 inch group. Well an adjustment on the scope to bring her dead center for me and a couple clips of 30 rounds later I am sub 3 inch grouping with no fliers. Man this thing is fun as hell. Just gotta play with a couple brands of ammo to see what it prefers now. I did have a couple of failure to load and several failure to fires but that is common with rimfires, not??

Try different brands of ammo,it can make a big difference.
The Fed balk pack seems to work well in many of these,
with winchester at the bottom of the pile.

the remi ammo i've had more problems with ftf and bad accuracy than other brands, so try as many brands as possible. the federal stuff is pretty good stuff for the price. I run american eagle and its cheap, shoots pretty darn well, and is reliable.
how are the gophers down south there?

Hehehehe my father just called and he is retaking his safety course so he can buy himself a 10/22 as he loved shooting mine so much. Woohoo one more gun owner for Canada!!!!!!! Now to see about how i get my prohib since he still has a Walther PP.... :D

Yea, .22s are fun and you got a good deal. I have a few and shoot them all the time. Cheap and fun. I find semi's seem to like Federal bulk pack too, like the post above.

I had a recent kick in interest in .22's when I stumbled across this at a local gunshop.
