Back to the future

Hi folks. I am new to the forum, but not to shooting. I did lots of it from a very young age, some competetive, but mostly hunting/plinking. Wore out a Browning Single shot 22-250 in the 80's...
I'm not sure why, but I drifted away form the sport for 25 years or so. Lately, though, I am regaining my interest. I poked around in the gun closet a bit, and noted some surplus items, and some stuff to add to the wish list. All of the archery stuff will have to stay where it is for the time being (I only have time to resurrect so many skills), and the black powder stuff probably has to wait for a while as well. In short, I think I will look for an easy project to start with. Been banging away some with my dad's old .22 sporter, but I think I really would like to try a .17 hmr, in the Savage thunb hole model. I am a leftie, and for the first half of my shooting carreer, no such factory rifles existed in LH, and for a reasonable price.
To finance the project, I an thinking of selling a Winchester 1886 in 45-90. It is surplus (I have two of them, as well as a .33, a Model '92, and an old "94 in 38-55). It is a pistol grip model, otherwise plain jane, and only in fair condition, although the action is tight, and it shoots surprisingly well. Any wags (wild assed guesses) what it might be worth nowdays?
