I see both XS Sight and Talley make a peep/ghost ring sight to mount on a standard Weaver base
These appear to sit lower than the NECG sight
Has anyone tried either of these?
Available in Canada maybe?

All the talk about having b/u sights for scoped rifles, and nobody has info to share about these?

Here's one on my 9.3X62.

Has been on there for years, always ready to flip up when needed.

Same as Why Not ..

These Redfields are getting hard to find but they don’t require an extremely tall front sight like the XS, NECG, or Talley.

They don’t look like much but once you have them sighted and loctited down they can’t be beat by anything on the market.

Just recd on of those Redfields folding peep from Arizona, going to mount it to a cutdown Ruger ring as a try
They were also offered on the JR single piece scope base

I had a Dave J sight on an old M98 .338 that he made by just mounting a small plate with aperture to a scope base
It was not adjustable, but 'regulated' by trial and error to that particular rifle and load, was MOBear for accuracy
The plate didn't have to fold as it was not interfering with the scope ring or scope

Brilliantly simple. Reminds me of the simple peep on Parker Hale's scope base that mounts in place of the rear sight on a Lee Enfield No. 4, and makes me wonder about adapting the "L" flip 300/600 yard sight from the Lee Enfield No.4 rifle to the back end of a Weaver scope base.

The XS Sight's 'Low Weaver backup peep' isn't much taller, if any.

may have to buy a couple, one for a weaver, and try to adapt the second to a Ruger claw

The xs pic rail rear preps where avalible on amazon, havnt checked lately though. I'm finally getting around to mounting a set on my 350

If you have a rail could tap and drill and install an 90 degree grease nipple. Drill size of hole that you want in the grease nipple Another option is to use a sling stud

With the nipple part removed leaves a threaded hole in a spherical body, sitting on a threaded post tapped into the rail
good ideas, could even insert a proper aperture into that
not much adjustment, not much worse than just JBwelding a 1/4 or 5/16 nut into the trough of a weaver base

xsSights still show some apertures on their site, looks like they have more thread than a grease zerk
