Backpack AR15 with quick change barrel

The folding stock adaptor is by Law Tactical. We are the Canadian dealers for it.

We are out of stock right now but more coming soon if you want to pre order

There seems to be a growing tend o quick change barrel systems out there. I think it's up to at five different companies. That one might be called Delos? I can't remember right now. Been a few months since I looked at it. Seemed like a nice idea to only pay for optics and some other things once, instead of each upper.

Each barrel would require you to re-zero your optic, so its not perfect. Even taking off a barrel and reinstalling the same one will require re-zero probably.

Check out military arms channel and/or iraqveteran8888 on the youtube.

I'm sure I watched a video where they reviewed these

If you need something like that compact and you can get it, your solution is a HK MP7. Failing that, a B&T MP9.

For the life of me I don't understand the whole QD bbl thing on an AR. The modular nature of the two receivers already makes the AR a quick change system.

A QD bbl has the huge PIA factor of requiring a re-zero of the sights every time the bbl is changed. Swapping entire uppers may require sights for each upper but at least the rifle is ready to go right after the swap.

Cost, portability, ease......Lots of reasons. Zeroing takes max 5-10 rounds.

The cost of an upper receiver is negligible. The cost of iron sights is negligible. Portability is a matter of 6 inches.

Zeroing takes both time but more importantly a place to do it and the ability to make a lot of noise in the process.

Simply swapping uppers is quicker, simpler and makes a ton more sense.

Be bloody careful that you don't slap a mag full of 300 into the 5.56. Sounds like a recipe for disaster, besides who's gonna decide to swap calibres quickly at the range wearing a backpack? JK. I'll admit it's pretty cool, but our laws take all the joy out of it for me. But hey you gotta follow your dreams man.

Yes most people here aren't taking into consideration this is really designed to be a take down AR that fits in a back pack or even smaller. Its not really about ease of changing the barrel, its about pulling a rifle out of a backpack or hand bag and snapping it together in seconds. Pretty much just for fun giggles in Canada because we are not legally allowed to carry AR15's in our backpacks

They make a detachable barrel system

As already mentioned the folding stock adapter is Law Tactical

And people are using arm brace style stocks where you can store the barrel inside the arm brace

search for DOLOS you will find more

CMMG, and several others are releasing QRB stuff too. Might be new trend.

Having expensive tastes for optics or other things on a typically shorter range rifle, and it sounds as if zero isn't lost on the original barrel. Not much loss between barrel changes. Sounds like staying inside reasonable targets, if not MOA at longer ranges. Saves $$ maybe overall, and if longest range barrel is initial setup, and shorter distance are planned for the others, it should work fairly well together.
Plink with the 20", Close combat drill with 10-14", use 7.5" firing for effect/fun. All with same optics, trigger setup, etc.

Having to backpack your gear into your gun club....I am glad I did not whine about plowing the winding trail into our gun range. :)
Or are you following the letter of the law and taking the shortest rout with your restricted to the range.
