BackPack tipe scabbard for Modern Hunter help

I bin looking fo a back pack tipe scabbard for my Moder Hunter any one have any suggestion ?
I tried several tactical sling and don't like them so thinking a backpack tipe scabbard would would work better for me hunting
 
Weird question, have you tried the Viking Tactics sling? It's a 2-point sling that has a cinch to tighten the sling up to your body when 'stowed' then you pull a release to let it go and deploy.

Easily the best sling design I've used especially when in the bush (for shotgun and my Tikka) as it lets you get the rifle nice and tight and solid (even when running) then to bring it up is a pull of a lever and it's out.



Having used a scabbard with a 14" shotgun, I can say it's a huge PITA to access your rifle, as you need to pull it out of your back somewhat like a clown pulling out cloths from his sleeve.... it's not quick or practical, especially with a 20" rifle. With that said....

For what you're looking for, the only 'backpack' or scabbard style packs that I've seen or have experience with is either Eberlestock or 5.11 RUSH pack.

The 5.11 design isn't really a scabbard as you need to unfold it to access the rifle, and it needs a MOLLE type backpack or chest rig to add onto... But it's good at keeping the rifle on your back and trucking around.

Eberlestock is of course substantially more expensive, but their packs are amazing quality.
 
I have tried a couple of tactical sling and don't like them I may be just to old fashion lol
I need to find sumthing practical for hunting I would love to put a Traditional Rifle sling on my MH

What's stopping you from doing a traditional sling?

I carried mine in both an eberlestock Phantom, it fits fine with 5/20 magpuls and 50mm optic. Its a big pack. If I am traveling light I have a leather biathlon sling that breaks down into 2 regular slings.

Mine is custom made by a local leatherwork guy, I can get a picture later tonight when I am home if you want. I have worn a small pack over the rifle as well, it means you have to drop the pack first. If I am just out for walk for a couple hours I can get everything I need on my belt and pockets. Its great having both hands free and it does not snag on the bush everywhere because of it riding straight up you spine. It is easy to get in action, drop the offhand shoulder strap and swing it up like a normal rifle sling. I put Flush cup attachments on it so I can swap it to all my rifles (which all have flushcups now).
He also padded the straps and even carrying my heavier precision rifles it is comfortable. The only thing I would say is when you carry a bolt action to make sure you carry it with the bolt out or it digs into you. Large scope turrets might also, but I only find its when I bend over and the rifle comes closer to back, walking normal its never an issue.

I can see if he is still doing the leather work and get a price, I have had it a few years now.

That would be grate to see the sling .
Wen hunting I traval light
Sum times I just pack a rifle,knife,ammo, toothbrush,and sleep under blow downs (old school)
 
Here is a couple of pics of it on my DT srs, a 14-15 pound rifle. I was out on my own so I coulden't get a picture of me actually wearing it. If you want to use both hands and pack light it is the best way to go. great in winter too, snowshoing, when I really want to travel light.

I use it to carry a 19lb TRG-42 in the Rocky Mountains for hunting every year

It has made the rifle unbelievably easier to carry all day .

I carry my "stuff" in a Maxpedition Versipack side pack ( since you can't use a backpack with this sling ) . It carries enough for a day trip

What is nice is you can drop the weak side buckle and the rifle just swings to my right side . Very quick to get out of this sling

Way less stress climbing when you have both hands free and don't have to worry about dumping a rifle on the rocks

The shooter loop is great once you practice getting into it

My hunting buddy has a Elberstock ....awesome pack but not as easy as you would think to haul a heavy long rifle out of it

You can save lots of $$ going to the Fastex buckle version vs the Cobra buckle .

Thanks guys I'm going with the biathlon tipe sling Alberta tactical rifle supplies is bringing out that style of sling I. The next two weeks
