Hey Everyone,

I have a Colt LE6920 Socom that came with backups rear sights. I want to use an Eotech red dot and magnifier. Unfortunately the magnifier does not fit would you give up the backup sight or the magnifier?

Lastly at what range should i sight in the eotech and what method would you recommend to sight the Eotech in easily??

Thanks T

You tube travis haley combat zero he explainsand demonstrates the difference in zeros from 25M out to 300M always shoot 5 round groups to zero as for your back up sites thats your call i have total trust in the NEW eotechs

You got a pic of the back backup sight?

Possible a different mount for the magnifier?

At what distances are you going to be shooting it? Safe bet is 25m and then confirm at 100m.

Cheers,

I noticed your stuff is raised. One ??? I noticed the Eotech is on the last rail and slightly overhanging. If I do that it works out but I was worried the Eotech might shift. If I remember correctly the battery compartment and a very small amount is over the blank
Space??

Thanks T

I'd lose the buis, keep the magnification.

Ask yourself a simple Q.
In Canada, at the range, under controlled firing, why the eff do I have buis?

Looks, is an ok answer. It's the only real one anyways.

Hey Everyone,

Finally had time to see if I put it on the last slot if it will work. If the Eotech hangs off a little like in the photo's everything fits. Just wondering what people think will this be an issue and will the Eotech shift not sitting 100% on the rail?

This^^^
Take off the BUIS and put them in the parts bin.
When was the last time anyone in Canada had a their life on the line at a gun range and had to switch to irons in seconds?
When was the last time you've heard of someone having their optic fail?
Worried about your battery going dead? Carry a spare in your range bag.
I would never sacrifice proper optics placement just to keep some mall ninja trinket on my rifle. If you like shooting irons then switch it over once in a while, your loss of zero will be minimal and at under 100yds you probably won't even notice.
If you compete in any discipline of action shooting and your optic fails your just going to have a crap score on that round and you'll have time to fix it before your next turn.
What I did on one of my AR's was to mount the rear BUIS in front of my optics. It's completely useless there but at least it's still on the rifle so I can remove the optic and slide the BUIS back to where it needs to be. Just carry a screwdriver or allen key for it in your range bag.
Another option is to get a set of 45 degree offset mounts for them but I wouldn't bother unless you're competing.

I totally have no issue removing it I just think it defeats the purpose of having a fixed front sight. If it didn't I would have removed it a long time ago. I guess it comes down to if the way it is mounted based on the pics if it will be an issue? If so the buis will either bit the dust or I will bite the bullet and get the Eotech magnifier.

Thanks T

Remove the front sight, either replace it with a different gas block or cut it off being careful not to mess up the gas system.
