Bacon, Honey or Maple Syrup Burn for Black Bears?

So I have a honey hole where I've been shooting nuisance bears, but having trouble getting a big shooter in my sights. I've heard about the incredible success using a honey or bacon burn and curious who has done it and what works best?

Is this at a bait? Try using rags soaked in Anise oil. And if you can, get some meat, preferably beaver. Big bears like meat.

This is an unbaited area. Bears are being fed on a neighbouring property and are travelling through. I saw 6 tonight inside 30 yards but the big guys tend to stay in cover. I've heard of lots of guys using bacon burns in the past, and was curious if anyone here has done it.

Tac my buddy here has an old bruiser coming in on a bait. He is using beaver carcasses placed in a barrel up out of reach as the draw card. Says they go crazy for it. He has 23 bears hitting his bait presently.

Under the new Ontario regulations, I need to be very careful regarding placement of bait and proximity to houses. So I'm limited to scent vs actual bait.

I have successfully used a honey bacon burn....... You can also get a bear bomb, which smells like beaver carcass.....

I used a honey burns for great sucsses on the bigger smarter bears , you will get only one shot at him be ready and shoot straight

The aerosol bear bombs work very well. We had lots of luck in June with the sow in heat one.

I had a smaller shooter in my sights last night but he spooked. I'm not really looking for a trophy, just a good eater
