Well the 6th trip of the year turned out to be a fantastic shoot. Big Redd and I hit the alfalpha feilds today at noon and started off with a large buck being rocked by my .220 Swift VSSF @ 130 yards. His day ended quickly and affirmatively with a 55g B/T. Redd was up 325 yards with his pet Browning Varminter in 25 WSSM topped with a 8.5-25x50 LR VXIII tossing 85g B/T's. That pig was missed on the first attempt but was stupid enough to try his luck a second time. He caught it at about 3000 fps in the good stuff and was blown back 2 feet. We only got two on that feild but moved to another which had the perfect length alfalpha on it after the first cut. We headed to high ground at 546 yards out from the fence line and set up. The dirt pigs were out in force and multiple attempts with the quarter bore to make the 500 yard shot was a no go today, however 400+'s were happin'. The best shot of the day was on a big male @ 375 yards which I caught head on in the teeth and blew both eye balls out and the majority of his face with the 220swift. Ausome bullet performance even at that range! We've got it all on tape for review latter. As I said a bad day to be a dirt pig, about a dozen we're sent to the big field in the sky.
