Somewhat a companion thread for my rimfire ammo thread. Good bad....cheap....overvalued....pricing never to be seen again.

I live remote. Closest center has about 15k residents, walmart/canadian tire type availability. My rifle, a.T8kka to in 3006, is.giant overkill. It is one of the only calibers locally available. So while I reload.for most, this particular rifle eats.anything, and.i use cheap factory fodder.

Literally cheap Winchester silver box. Now working on another.30-06. This stuff patterns, doesn't shoot that at all. Pretty unusual in my experience. Factory stuff usually shoots at least ok.

Thoughts.and experiences in a "cheap" $30/box world.

Fixed....fat finger....cell keyboard syndrome.

Your title is very confusing. The "amm9" looks like you're talking about 9mm factory ammo. Took me a bit to figure out that you weren't incoherently rambling, but "amm9" was supposed to be ammo, and had nothing to do with $30/box pistol ammo. Lol

Haha I got the exact same out of it all.

Nowadays that's how things are . those factory's are going 24-7 trying to keep up with the panic down south . if you want something better then order some high end stuff or stuff from the Czech republic from a store on the mainland . what are you going to do ? the $20 dollar stuff has come and gone . I can't believe how much they are asking for stuff . for everything . I hope you have lots of reloading component's. if the little bastard gets elected again and I hope and pray he doesn't then it will even be tougher .

IF there are some other shooters in your community maybe you can make a large order thru one of the sponsors to save on shipping (some are free for $2-300), to be able to get better quality ammo - and stock/stack up.

Some rifle will puke on a particular brand of ammo. Try two other brands and see if one works better.

Or roll your own.

Well of course I do. Just never bothered, for such a Canadian tire/Walmart available caliber as 30-06. Then along came a husky 1640, unlike my father's T3, it doesn't eat everything. Have found it likes the federal blue box, people above love/hate above, but pukes on Win silver box.
