Bad Extracter?

I have a Lakefield mark 2 .22 bolt, vintage unknown. It will shoot 8 or 9 out of 10 with no problem but there's always 1 or 2 empties that I have to dig out. I've tried a bunch of different ammo and they all do the same. Took it to the local smith and was told "obsolite, can't get parts, buy a new one". I won't be getting anything new anytime soon so was wondering if anyone had ideas.
 
I had an issue with one of my old cooeys. I just lightly filed the extractor to restore its edge and now have no issues. Doesn't sound like your gunsmith is very adventurous.

one problem it could be is the spring clip has stretched, easy to fix though. Remove the clip and give it a slight bend in the center by squeezing the ends together a little bit.This can also be caused by steching the ends to far apart when removing the spring clip. A new spring clip can be ordered from savage arms as they are the same as the new mark 2 clips.
 
I know it is pretty difficult to wear out the extractors as i have 2 lakefieds each has over 30000 rds through them and both work flawlessly,i have had to tweak the springs a few times though.
 
the parts for the Lakefields and many Cooeys are still available. Thank goodness for this site, you sometimes only have to ask. I have a contact that not only stocks many of these "obsolete" parts but makes many of them.
i have bought many parts for and had repairs done ( by him) to the bolts for my Mark IIs, parts for my 1940 Mossbergs and Cooey 64s, 39s and 75s and 60s. etc. Please feel free to PM me for his contact info. he does not have a computer.

For reference, I just got an older lakefield MkII on trade and the bolt setup is a bit different. The extractors are held in with roll pins and are loaded by springs at the back. I was having a couple of rounds per mag extract but not eject because the left extractor was not gripping enough. To fix, I drifted out the pin and filed the portion on the extractor that touched the bolt allowing it to close a bit more. When reassembled, a rim should snap under the extractors when slid from below and be held firmly in place.
