All my LEE equipment was giving me a real hard time Tonight.
I wont have many rounds at the range Tomorrow :(

First My loadmaster SP priming system decided to chew up my last primer slider. after 55 rounds
I must say this priming system is pure Junk.
I then switch to my manual priming tool.
First rand all the brass into the loadmaster (deprime ,resize ,Flaire)
After about 150 9mm brass I broke the decaping pin of my lee universal decaping die.
Then manually prime everything, like it wasent enough I broke the lever on my priming tool priming 9mm brass:confused: No clue how I did this, must be metal defect, I am speech less.

Finally I ran all the primed cases into the loadmaster for powder and bullet seater. 150 rounds later my carrier was worn out, This will be my second worn Carrier on this press.

I must say I am getting sick and tired of always spending more time Debugging the press then reloading. When It's not flip or tip primer, it's the case feeder or the indexing, and or the powder mesure. Now I need a another carrier.

How is your loadmaster treating you ?

I've been happy with my Loadmaster in .45ACP. There were a few bugs with the priming system when new, and it took a little bit to get used to how everything worked. I am just waiting for some parts to do other calibres in now.

Have you been to the Loadmaster forums yet? There is a lot of good info there and some great videos. Some of those guys post them to Youtube too.

If you don't get it working please don't throw it out, as there are a lot of people who would buy your faulty press and tune it with the info from the Load Master Forum.

from the looks of things, you're running the priming system till it's almost dry- like all lee systems, you NEED to have about 10 or more primers in the chute to make it feed reliably as it's a gravity feed- i've got the LARGE version and have very few if any problems- you have to replace the slider about every 500 or so rounds, but that's it-you can replace the whole priming system less the tray for about 10 bucks, and the sliders are about a buck a piece-

I have over 2K rounds of large primer in my system with the same slider, No problem.
But the Small primer system is always acting up... Always

Yes I checked out the Loadmaster forum many time when I first got the press. Tonight the hand prime, decaping pin, priming system and Another worn out Carrier all at the same time is too much BS at the same time.

I have very little problem with .45acp , but 9mm is another story

I have had the same problems as well and will agree that the priming system is garbage on the loadmaster.

I have loaded 20,000 rnds+ (9mm, 40 S&W, 45, 223, 308, 300 WM) so overall it's been good but it does have it's moments.

Then your wallet will be blue........

Blue makes good presses, but not everyone can justify that much money. for the price of one blue press I have 4 red ones, plus extra bits. Now if I won the $50 million Lottery, my workbench would be all blue.

If you send an e-mail to LEE with a picture of the defective products, I would be shocked if they didnt send replacements at their expense no questions asked. Their customer service in my experience has been amazing.

Lee's customer service has been top notch for me, and I used to enjoy my Loadmaster.

I have a Dillon Super 1050 for loading rifle rounds (the Bushmaster AR15 and Norinco M14S go through a lot of rounds). I am going to be purchasing a .45 ACP conversion for it and passing my Loadmaster on to another individual who has a use - and the patience - for it.

I can't stand it now. I loaded about 300 rounds of .45 the other day, and decided firmly that those 300 were the last rounds I would load on the Loadmaster. I had many of the same issues with the WORST PRIMING SYSTEM IN THE WORLD and, despite troubleshooting/trimming/making it work many times, I just don't want to put up with that POS anymore.

They couldn't have made the priming system out of metal, could they... just had to be SH*TTY PLASTIC... all of it... and be actuated in a manner which usually causes the priming arm to flex.

Stupid design, IMO. However, it was well worth the price when I got it - and has paid for itself more than 3 times now - so I can't really be too pissed off...

What Colin said....I have 3 Pro 1000's. I've had some pain and suffering with them as well but to set up a single Blue press capable of reloading the 3 calibres I shoot would have kept me out of the "game" as the cost was easily double the price of the 3 1000's for a Blue 550 set up in one calibre......

Guaranteed unbreakable decapper, ROFL. I guess not.

Yeah....I broke one of those decappers as well but a phone call to Lee Precision got a replacement mailed to me.

The decapping pin in mine also broke, just waiting for a new one to show up.
Did you grease the linkage pivot point on the hand tool?
I watched all the vid's I could find before I even bolted my press down. I debugged it as per the vid's and no problem's.
I took the priming tray and looked for burr's/flashing and found a couple. A couple swip's with a file and done.
I reload for the .45 Win Mag, and make sure the primer's never go below 15 count.
I have a tray the has a lock on the rear that keep's if on tight so it can open up and cause primer flip's. Mention to Lee about it you might get a freebee.
You should also take the time to give it a good cleaning/lube job also, but if you've worn out 2 shell plate's your cranking out a lot more ammo then I have and have the experiance to show it..

because you didnt go blue you need 4 red ones to make up for one blue :p:p

I can't say anything in a thread like this lest the red supporters get upset but....

I didn't like my Lee I didn't like the chain in the fail safe system, the plastic parts in the primer system or the screw keepers..

I know there are those that love the price of the Lee and those that have "grown up" using the red press and I find that if someone starts with something they typically stick with it.. It's what they get used too.. I started on a Square Deal so I ended up going back to blue..

This morning I am more Calm and just sent a Email to Higginson to find out the price of the replacement parts.
I would be liying saying the this press didnt do his job. I ran thousands of brass threw it.
I guess I will first replace que worn out parts and continue. It's not blue, Test my patience all the time with Small pistol primers. but can reload thousands and thousands of rounds for very little money.
Ill keep a eye open from now on for the blue cool aid :)

Yesterday was just a bad night everything decided to #### up at the same time

Doubt the blue one would load shotgun. Also the other 3 presses mean not changing for calibres so much. Part of Lee's problem is really lousy instructions. I fixed the majority of my problems with the help of Loadmastervideo forums.

As for decapping pins, they will break and I keep a punch of spares. The old ones make nice punches though.

SL900 ( is blue and loads shotgun!)

Well, I bought the red presses when I started reloading so I guess I've "grown up" with them but let's call a spade a spade--there's a reason why they are at their price point....:nest: ;)
