bad pistol experience

hey gang.

I just got 2 new pistols a tt33 and a cz 75 both in 9mm. today at the range the tt failed to cgamber 4 of ten rounds and needed the slide driven ahead with a rubber mallet to fire,ive cleaned this gun thoroughly and am a bit perplexed....ah well no big i thought just a rough break inwent to the cz and fired 6 rounds the 7th went pop, not bang... oh #### now what dropped the mag and lo and behold the lead is stuck in the barrel just in the chamber. these were reloads that the owner sold with the gun... old friend of mine and a very responsible gunner im assuming no powder in the round...... soooo now what how do i get that out?
I am really beginning to wonder if i should use handguns... Watch the ee who knows might be a good deal up soon!!!
Is it just me? none of my bows rifles shotguns ever f....ked with me like this!!!!

If a handgun requires a rubber mallet to close, it's fate telling you something is wrong and giving you a chance to not blow yourself up. One should listen closely to stuff like that.

Sounds like an ammunition issue. Are these factory, surplus, or reloads you're feeding them?

You should never use someone else's reloads, so definitely don't blame the gun...especially a CZ75...they are one of the most tried and true pistol models ever created. Any issues with them are usually operator related.

It sounds like you have a couple batches of bad reloads.

Brass is a better choice for range rods than wood, as it won't splinter. Another option is a steel rod covered in scotch tape.
 
get a brass rod and drive that round out of your barrel then get yourself some factory ammo and try again.Your not giving up that easy are you? :eek:I have a CZ 75 and it works fantastic!
 
Yup, sounds like reload issues. Buddy may know how to load jacketed bullets but its not the same with lead. I expect he overcrimped and forced lead to flow forward of the case mouth. If thats the case, then the slide will not come into battery unles it is forced such as what you had mentioned.
Fall off the wallet and try some factory fresh. You will be surprised at how well they work.

hi guys

normally i would not use anothers reloads, this guy i trust with my kids. nuff said.
the tokarev was acting up with factory ppu 85 grains from canada ammo, are these ok for the 33?

85 gn 9mm rounds? are you sure you had 9mm parabellum (luger)? sounds like you might have had 9mm ultra or short, and they wouldn't cycle worth beans in the gun.

go buy some winchester white box or remington green box and try that. I suspect you have no issues with your rifles or bows because they get a better diet.

oh, and don't shoot any more of your friends reloads.........post pics of a few of them and i suspect more then a few of us can finger the exact problem. Be happy the lead was light enough that it didn't cycle the action and stick half way down the barrels, the secnod shot would have truly sucked.

The Tokarev us 7.62x25 not 9mm.

Another option for your problem is that you may have been riding the trigger, just saying.
 
3/8 dowel will not fit

Get a 5/16 or a 1/4 brass or metal rod and put 2-3 layers of electric tape on it

3/8 = .375

9mm = .356 +- so 3/8 will not fit

Or a brand new pencil with a flat end and remove the eraser part (metal)

Some people don't re-size their brass when reloading. This can cause several issues, including over-length cases, swollen cases, etc., all of which could cause your problem.

Those are very reliable guns. Just offhand, I'd say the ammo...isn't.

Like the others said, get some factory stuff. it'll shoot juuuust fine.

Ummm, if you need to hammer a round into the chamber...this means something's not right and you need to STOP and figure things out. f:P:

That's fine, but mistakes happen and the squib load is proof of that.

NOT if its chambered in 9MM as you stated, since 85gr is most likely going to be 7.62x25 ! If in fact the 33 IS chambered in 7.62, then that would explain why it doesn't like you trying to feed it 9mm ammo..reloaded or not.

Any chance you have a mixed bag of ammo from your friend ?
