bad pistol experience

My 9mm Steyr will balk at virgin brass til I resize them down a bit. TT-33's are a pretty basic workhorse gun, they work well IMO. An uncultured simplified 1911 colt is what they are.

Ummm, if you need to hammer a round into the chamber...this means something's not right and you need to STOP and figure things out. f:P:

Any chance you have a mixed bag of ammo from your friend ?

X2. Really interesting day at the range. May have been alot worst had you fired another one into the jammed bullet or fired it out of battery with the hammer blows to the slide rear.

Um... Normally, if you could see me smiling when I said it, I'd say:
Clearly this CZ firearm is defective. Why don't you transfer it to me so I can properly dispose of it on your behalf.
However - a .25 inch diameter brass rod and a hammer should help you bang the bullet out of the barrel.
(How would I dispose of a CZ 75? I'd try to wear it out.)
Cheers

Sounds to me like there is nothing at all wrong with the guns!

Sounds like your buddies reloads are garbage, and can be blamed for your problems!

NEVER TRUST SOMEONE ELSES RELOADS!!!

You just found out why................

that's the best advise so far...

I have seen 2 tt33 seized in partially chambered condition with steel case mil ammo(off-spec ammo?). Mil ammo can leave enamel or varnish residue in chamber, clean well . Lee dies do a poor job of flaring, especially in this caliber, bullet then goes in crooked, bulging neck(could seize in chamber). Ammo problems both firearms, reload carefully.

The Tokarev us 7.62x25 not 9mm.

Another option for your problem is that you may have been riding the trigger, just saying.

yes, i know, i have at least one at present, i was wondering about the OP. He states he has a TT33 in 9mm. 7.62 x 25 will feed and fire in a 9 mm barrel, and usually even eject, but as you can imagine, reliability is sketchy and accuracy non exisitant. BUT the grain weight mentioned by the OP is a standard in 7.62 hand guns, and the shorter 9 mm cases. Hence the question....

You'd have to heat the gun smokin hot to get steel case to leave laquer in the chamber. Only a problem on rifle calibers, and even then ussually only on full auto. 99.9% of problems with steel case is not mil spec stuff, it's bargin east european import. And i've seen a fair bit of crappy norc 9mm with steel case... The chamber on the military TT33 is more then generous, if it don't feed, it's the ammo not the gun. That being said, the only true military 9 mm of the tokerov family was the tokagypt, the rest being comercial conversions. Still normally very reliable.
