Bad scope?

The scope is mounted on a Remington 5R in 308, using Burris high rings and EGW base.
I have been able to put 3 shots the size of a quarter at 100 yards fairly consistently. However
The next time I go shooting I have to adjust frequently to achieve the same results, and the next time I go,
same thing. Some of it is me, I'm still fairly new, but I think it may be a scope issue.
I currently have the scope mounted on a Russian CM2 and will try it later this week, to test tracking and repeatibility.
Any help on how to properly test a scope would be appreciated.

Your screws may be coming loose on the rings or mount, or maybe the scope is not secured enough(ie tape inside the rings)?. Considering its giving you consistent groups at 100 yards, it might be something other than the scope. Try putting 40 or 50 rounds downrange with it, does it stay zeroed?
Were you cleaning the barrel between shooting sessions? Was the barrel getting hot? If you zero it in on a hot barrel, it might be different for the first few shots on a cold barrel. I've seen guys shooting away like its rimfire and adjusting a new scope on a barrel that is blazing hot. It might cool and return to a different point of impact, especially if you are concerned with tenths of an inch.
If your capable of shooting 3 shot quarter sized groups at 100 yards consistently it doesnt sound like its you. Are you using the same ammo each time? Also as mentioned by others check your rings and base and make sure your not over heating the barrel.
It sounds like your tracking is fine if your able to make the correct adjustments but the fact it changes between shooting sessions doesnt really make sense. Once you have your zero are you resetting your turrets to zero so that you know if they are possibly being turned off zero between trips?
Do a box test. Fire one shot, then crank in 6moa up, fire another shot, add 6moa right, fire the third shot. Then crank 6moa down elevation and fire the fourth. Finally add 6moa left windage and fire your last shot. That will atleast tell you if your turrets are in the ballpark.
