Every Army Cadet Corps has a Number as well as a name. Our local CC, for example, is 2528 followed by the Name.

This rifle was issued to Number 1046 C C and was Rifle Number 7 on their rack.

Check with Cadet Services of Canada for which Corps this would be and you have the answer.

THAT WAS FAST ...you guys are awesome!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for all the info guys!! And to Kevin for the extra effort!1 Nice to know where it came from!! Thanks again. It sat in my granddads gun rack for at least 30 years never used and it was bought second hand way before i was around. i got into target shooting and was told it was a very good rifle so I got it re-blued it and re-did the stock with linseed oil. Found a rear peep sight in England for it and now use it regularly at the local gun club. Great shooting rifle...matched it up wioth some CCI ammo.
