Anyone wish to share and tips or tricks for calling and/or hunting these pesky critters?

They are such destructive creatures.

I have tried a few times to call badgers with no luck. The one tidbit I can offer up is when you do see one running across a field or pasture keep your gun on it and when it goes into it's hole odds are it will turn around and face you for one last look.
For coons I would say check out YouTube as there is a few guys doing it on there. Setup next to suspected den sites and blast coon sounds on an e call for a few minutes.

Find a dairy farmer with silage corn and you'll more than likley find a very high concentration of racoons. Brush piles from land clearing and tile drainage ditches are usually a great spot too start looking for tracks

In my experience, taking a badger was simply random, right place at the right time events. Only once, on a day when calling in coyotes and fox, and there were some badger holes nearby, did we lure out a badger with a faint squeaker. For raccoons, watch for tracks along rivers and streams then sit quietly along the banks nearby in the evenings. The difficulty is they may not show up until after dark.

Don't know about Badgers but best way to hunt raccoons is to trap them with a bit of cat food in a dog proof trap. I use to hunt raccoons all the time and although I was good at it, my success rate greatly improves with trapping. Traps are inexpensive (about $23), animal specific and easy to set up. But if you are really more interested in the hunt itself, off the top ofmy head I could think of a dozen critters that are more enjoyable and/or challenging to hunt. https://canadiancoyotecompany.com/collections/dp-traps-dog-proof-raccoon-traps

Raccoon's love Rack Stacker deer feed. I have a video of 9 of them at one time at a bait from this past season. none during daylight. NB added raccoon and skunk to the hunting licenses this year. might have a look around and see if i can find where they are sleeping. anyone know how far they would travel in a night to get an easy meal?

Wood pecker distress call works well for coons in southern Ontario. We're riddled with the things down here.
I'd like to hunt them at night this coming year. I picked up a bluetick coonhound drathharr cross so I'm hoping to get her out. When I find someone who wants the pelts now I just go early morning and call and pop them with a 22

Badgers are well known in Europe for trapping Wiener dogs inside their dens. They close/block the dogs retreat route. Then they escape through another exit and the hunter is left with diggin' out the dog through 4' of roots.

Use a ferret and they will gang up on you :)
