So I have tried to my wits end to get a straight answer from Badger, but their customer service leaves much to be desired, so I'll bring my question to you fine folks. I am a new owner of a Winchester Model 70 EW in .300 winmag, and I need a rail. I really want a Badger, because I trust the name. I am pretty sure I need the long action rail, (even though Badger told me I need the magnum rail until I pointed out that their picture shows the rear-most screw holes very close together but on my rifle both sets of holes as ~ 7/8") but there is a note attached to it on their website that states:

For Winchester Short Actions manufactured in New Haven, Conn. Will not work with actions produced in Columbia, SC

The note is most definitely on the page for the long action, but says "short actions" and specifies nothing about Portuguese made rifles. Here's the thing they don't seem to be able to understand I need an answer to: Will that rail work with my Portuguese made rifle?

Thanks anyone for your time.

Check out Richard Near's rails.

I came up with that red highlighted paragraph was a cut and paste typo and looked at the “specifations” where it confirms that it is indeed for long action

I appreciate the time you took looking into that, thank you. I was able to get Badger on the phone and they confirmed that it should fit my Portuguese manufactured rifle, so it would seem that it was indeed a cut and paste typo, but the issue was never whether or not a LA rail was required, it was whether or not it would fit my rifle.
