Hello everyone, I was playing with my dad's old pellet pistol, the make is a Baikal and the print on top says some weird russian characters and then dash 40. It's a break barrel pellet pistol, older model, made in the U.S.S.R

I was shooting some pellets today and noticed it had almost no power, from 20 ft away it almost didn't penetrate a pop can. The pellets I was using were Crosman hollowpoint and on some shots the pellet actually got stuck about halfway (or less than) down the barrel.

Is there any maitenance or repair I can perform on this pellet pistol to get it functioning nicely again. I can't even seem to find the model referenced anywhere on the net anymore, all the ones I find are for newer models. Any help would be appreciated.

That old pellet gun probably has leather seals that are dried out.
Soaking the piston seal in Neetsfoot oil will bring back some of the power. KD

Does anyone have a good resource for dissambley, I'm not sure how it comes apart. Maybe I should just stick with my newer crosman pellet rifle
