Baikal IZH-53M air pistol

Should have got the 46M if one hole groups are what you need. They have reviews at reviewcentre.com ******* Harold yours would be an entry level plinker

It's too slow for shooting holes in things, but velocity is very consistent, I think around 360 fps or so. And pretty accurate, well worth every penny I paid for the one I used to have.

My personal preference is against a spring pistol because the recoil is opposite that of a "real" gun.

An alternate choice if you want something for plinking/target is a Daisy 717. They are accurate, inexpensive, especially if you find a good/cheap used one. And are a one pump pneumatic, so no recoil.

There is also a 747 model with a Lothar Walther barrel, metal sights and adjustable trigger.

Not so.A favorite amongst pistol shooters is the Webley line of air pistols. The are built to recoil the correct way and simulate shooting a small bore powderburner. They are good quality and last a long time. :) :p :)My gun is a Tempest model and chrony's at 490 fps.Accurate enough to hit a pop can at 20 meters.

You are right. It has been a long time since I last used a Webley (Tempest 177 I believe). However as I recall, it was powerful, but not all that accurate.

I believe they are no longer made.
