This is more a rifle related question hence the question in this forum.....

Much appreciate insight from folks who use/used one particularly in terms of how the rifle bbl perform with iron sights.

Obviously, this is far from a precision firearm but I would like to know if the regulation is good enough for consistent 2 inch groups @ 100 yds.

As I understand it, there is some kinda knob/screw on the firearm for regulating the rifle bbl......is this something that needs to be tweaked only once prior to zeroing the rifle? or something that needs to be done often?

Many thanks,

I've had one for 4 years now and in fact, I was hunting with it yesterday. This is an awesome gun. The .30-06 barrel can hit plastic 2 litre pop bottles out to 200 yards and the shotgun comes with multiple chokes. The gun can easily be broken in half. I keep mine in a zip up gun case. I break it in half and put the front half right up in the front of the case and the stock/receiver end at the other end of the case and then fold the case in half and stuff it in a duffel bag. It's a great gun for travelling with and would also make a great gun for an ATV. I give this gun two thumbs up and highly recommend you buy it. I've never had to tweak the point of aim. I had to adjust the rear sight when it was new but haven't touched it once I got it zeroed. It's not my main hunting gun but it is most certainly my most versatile gun. The only thing that you have to be careful of are the seasons where you're hunting. I would be worried if I was hunting partridge with it in an area where there is a big game season open and I didn't have a license for it.

I still have one in 12/3006 and use it from year to year. With open sights its accurate as you mentioned as I have a low 2 3/4 power scope on mine and still use it for hunting grouse with it. It is a handy gun and is well built but it is on the heavy side (with scope). As for adjusting the screw to regulate the barrel I have not done it on this rifle as it shot 2" high at a 100y so I left it as is. I did buy one that I could not get to regulate and shot 12" low and 8"to the right after playing and switching bullets weights with it so I sent it back. I would buy a new one incase you have a problem so that it could be returned.

Thanks, gentlemen.

I'm primarily a bird hunter but carry an Antlerless Deer tag every season and that is the only period I plan on carrying the combo gun. At around 8lbs, it sure would be heavy to lug around as a dedicated Upland gun :). My only concern at this time is the apparent inconsistency of the rifle bbl regulation.
