Baikal Mp-153 Bolt Problem

I received my Baikal MP-153 in the mail today, when I opened the box I found that the bolt was far past where it would normally rest in the receiver. It's actually stuck so far forward that the bolt has partially left the receiver body. I tried gently hitting the cocking knob to move the assembly back, as well as hitting the bolt face, (don't worry, I used a soft wooden dowel and a hammer) but no success.

I don't want to ruin it, has anyone else experienced this before? Perhaps it's an easy fix but I'm a shotgun newbie...

You will have to #### the hammer by pushing it back with your finger or a screwdriver. Better yet take it back to your dealer and let him worry about it.

I cocked the hammer back but she is still jammed up TIGHT. I'd take it back to the dealer if it wasn't a private sale of a used gun, I'm no where near any Baikal dealers that I know of anyways :(

did you try to put the barrel in.
and try ####??
they look same as mine one without the barrel.
but when you put barrel together .then will good to go.

The bolt is jammed against the top of the receiver where the barrel would normally slide in so that's a no-go, thanks for the response though!

Pull the cocking lever out and let the bolt come right out. The n reassemble properly.

How do I get the cocking knob to come out? I can't find a manual online and I didn't get anything like it with the shotgun. Should it just pull right out? If so that's jammed in too...

I'm not sure who to exchange it with? Baikal Canada will do their best to repair it but I doubt they'll trade it for a new one if I paid the difference.

SeamusMac,

Grab the bolt handle and pull it out with all your force (it is hard). When it comes out the whole bolt assembly will just come out and you will be able to reassembkle everything properly.

Hope this solves he problem.

That did the trick! I had to use a screwdriver to force the bolt knob out, it took a lot more pressure then I thought it would. Thanks for your help guys, I'll be out shooting it next week!

iff you go to eaacorp.com they have manuals for all baikal shotguns and it tels you how to take them apart and reassemble
