I bought the Baikal MP 153 factory camo version a few years ago and have only taken it out hunting about ten times. On Saturday, I went hunting with it in the rain and the camo started peeling right off. I discovered that not only the forend is made of wood and stickered over with camo tape( I knew that) but also the buttstock is wooden and stickered over with camo. The camo rubbed right off at the tang.
I guess you get what you pay for. I didn't realize at the time I bought it that what lies beneath the camo film is untreated wood.
My questions is this - can anyone recommend camo film that sticks and doesn't rub off? My other option would be to remove the film and stain the wood but I am going to have a hard time stripping the checkered part.
Lastly, does anyone have a synthetic camo MP153? Any issues with it?
