I finally got mine in and I'm no gun writer but as there is nothing about this gun on the internet in recent news I thought I'd post. As said its a baikal and built in typical russian style. Fit and finish isn't the greatest and the triggers are only slightly heavier then my factory stevens 200. I have no scale. It is a good looking rifle with a decent looking set of very straight grained walnut looking hardwood. It may actaully be walnut. Blueing is rich and seems deep. The sling swivels don't touch the firearm in there 180 degrees of travel. The book has a card filled out stating this gun left the factory sighting in at 50m and 2 shots from each barrel left impacts 5mm vertical spread and 27mm horizontal spread. That is with a 405 grain load. I don't know if its factory or not. The front sight is adjustible for hieght much like the sks and it has a rear blade adjustible for windage. Its pushed slightly right and marked with a scratch. It has an 11mm dovetail raised rib scope rail. It is very stiff to open but my sxs shotguns were the same at first. It has adjustible regulation in the barrels by means of a jack screw. The recoil pad looks soft and feels harder then the wood. At 6 3/4lbs this gun handles great and shoulders very fast. Prolly gunna hurt to shoot a lot. Its got 23 1/2" barrels. Its rated for 28000cup so when my local store opens ima go buy for factory remington 405s to try and I have a box of hornady leverolution ammo to try as well. Hornady never got back to me about their pressures. I may not try these today as I'm not sure if they are over the 28000cup mark. I will post about how it shoots later today

Le Baron has them for $845.94, if you have a le baron club card it's only $860.32 taxes in. I was thinking about getting one, so I am very interested in your results. Thanks for the post. Skokie

I keep eying them up but can never justify getting one as I already have enough hunting rifles. I was however thinking of (don't cringe too much) chopping one down for a field gun to carry on my person but they are rather expensive to be doing that kind of experiment with.

I think it would be a great gun to try, although fighting the regulation for every diif. bullet and velocity combination might be tiresome, or is it not a concern?

I tried the 405 remington shells. There isn't much of a kick at all. Had a few wild fliers but I think it was me. Black sights black target slightly heavy trigger. After a few shots I was gettring groups left barrel 1" center to center and right barrel center to center 1.5" groups. They were 2" apart horizontally and 1/2" vertically. Shot at 50meters in an uncomfortable kneeling position. Off hand I had troubles seeing the target and grouped 6 shots in 6". After I put a scope on ill play more. I didn't touch the regulator on the barrels as of yet. Very fun gun. I'm impressed. I was almost regretting the purchase till I pulled the 2 rimmed empties out and watched the smoke roll out

Well I shot more remington rounds and tried the hornady leverolution shells today. The hornadys kick a lot harder and print 4" l-r but are very consistent. Once I add a scope ill regulate the barrels for these rounds. Everyone who shot it liked it. All in all its a fun short range lil gun
