Baikal Pistols

I think they are pretty good...

My girlfriend (and a few other shooters I know) bought the IZH-35... It shoots as good as my GSP... for $1500 less

My first .22 was a MCM-Margolin... still have it.

I got to borrow a MP446 Viking for a PPC match... I liked it. If I didn't already have a 9mm, I would buy one.

My 2 cents,
Mike.

Baikal MP-654k

I do have a Baikal MP-654kCo2 Makarov wich is built on the same frame as the the 9mm and this pistol is well built, the Blued steel finish is quite good. I would say they are good guns. built to last!

I have a Viking MP-446 and man it loves 124gr 9mm ammo. Knocked a soda can at 50m easily. Scarecrow was my witness :D It's a very nice pistol and I love it. The groups are very decent and the pistol handles beautifully. As per Russian tradition, it functioned flawlessly even with the crappiest of ammo. No ftf or jam up to date. My only regret is not buying it sooner with lots of mags.

Yah Baikal is doing very well. Plus they have military contracts to fill.

I own a viking pistol myself and these guns are worth every penny. Its too bad there no longer going for 500$ like before. The grip feels good and the trigger in SA is very short and smooth. The DA is a bit gritty for my taste. The gun also ejects directly upwards and cycled all the brands of ammo we had, even super #### CTVSP reloads!

Specfire was killer with the UMC 124gr ammo I brought. Nothing like a pistol that likes cheap bulk ammo.

I talked to Royal Sportsman gunshop in Burnaby and was told otherwise, the owner said that his stock was sold out and that the company that makes them has gone out of business and that he couldn't get any more at any price... :? I have shot one before and was shocked at the smoothness of the single action pull, very nice.

What is the "proper" mag size on them? 15 pinned to 10?

darkestjedi, maybe he was talking about Armrus. I think it is up for sale or something. Royal sportsman is listed on their website as an "official dealer".
