you guys out east seem to have had the jump on us western boys when it comes to the availbility of this line up of product. I am looking for some general feedback from anyone that would care to tell me about their shotguns, or any of their other products you may have tried. They look great on the web and I have heard tell that the 12 gauge auto loader is a real work horse. I have two up and comers in the house and if I don't have to spend Beretta money on good guns for them that would be GREAT! Regards FS

what are you talking about? =) there's a large stocking dealer here in Vancouver, and a good group of new guys i shoot trap/skeet /w have bought a baikal because of the entry level price point.

i've handled their O/U and its quite nice, barrels i've been told are cheap enough one guy has a trap barrel and a shorter barrel for skeet.. more the most part its got decent wood and locks up quite well, a bit of small machine marks here and there in the reciever but not bad...

the semiauto, one i've seen one /w a wood stock and another in a syn stock, both were blued, i guess it was still new, but the ones i handled in the store, was a lil stiff to cycle... the one belonging to another member at the trap club was quite smoother when cycling.. it comes /w at least 1 choke (i forgot how many) and seems to work quite well for the fellow...

Sorry HR by out west I should have been more finite by saying Alberta, Thanks FS

=) no worries... i hope you find one to play /w in your area.... if you want to do a price check, google for the burnaby,bc dealer (royal sportsman) and call them for it...

Very good value - quality + performance perspective - for the money. I got one in wood a year ago.......came with four chokes.

Bill C68 had a new MP-153 (synthetic) for sale......I was all prepared to grab that had there not been some last minute impacts to my financial situation.

Prices on those will be going up soon.....recommend grab one or a couple if you wish to........won't regret the decision IMHO. Oh one more thing, Baikals could be visualized as very efficient and rugged hunting tools and not very high up in the area of finesse. That said, recent Baikal products are quite pleasing to the eye. Personally, still debating whether to acquire a Benelli M2 or a Baikal in synthetic few months down the road (I am that satisfied :)
