For the people that have one of these and have done some shooting with them, how is the accuracy( with a scope and with open sights) out to ranges 100y 200y etc. Also was wondering how the action is holding up if they still are tight and if they have any extractor issues. For some reason I have an interest in them but still sitting on the fence.

Buddy had one and found the light barrels shot all over the place especially as they heated up after firing off just a few shots in succession. He found it very hard to sight in because of this and basically had to fire one shot and wait 5 minutes for it to cool down to fire the next shot while sighting it in.

Also it was very hard to regulate both barrels to hit anywhere close, the best he got was about 6" from his first shot at 100 meters. And if you changed your ammo you had to go through re-sighting and regulating it again.

These rifles are only good for shooting within 200 meters with a set load and not for long strings of shots.

He got rid of it and went back to a bolt action rifle as he thought shot placement was more important to him than a quick followup shot that might be hitting 6" or more from were he aimed.

Maybe he had a bad one but I have never heard that these guns are very accurate. They seem well built although.

I handled and shot one which far exceeded my expectations. The wood was nicely figured and the blueing was tastefully executed. Shooting with irons resulted in point of aim hits on a rock, from off hand, at, or a bit beyond, 200 yards. In all fairness, a double rifle is intended to be neither a long range rig, nor one suitable for shooting long strings. Typical of the breed, in my limited experience, one trigger was considerably better than the other, in this case the forward trigger broke cleanly with perhaps 4 pounds of pressure, while the rear trigger seemed gritty and heavier. If you want a reasonably powerful, compact rifle for use across moderate ranges, a SXS .30/06 has it's advantages, and the Baikal appears to be excellent value for the money.

I have one in 45/70. Bout a thousand rounds thru it. Some very hot loads. No issues. Both barrels are very accurate. Factory rem express loads group 2 shots from each barrel in a 2-3" group at 75 yards. I have upped the loads and have a 4" vertical spread at 100 yards. Works for me. Love the gun. The regulation works great but it's in cm not inches. Again this is a 45/70.
