I have a chance at two of them. Neither have been fired. No boxes. One has an old style long target scope. It has been a while since I've seen them. Can't recall anything else. Both wood and blued.

Check the rate of twist. Winchester varmint may have a 12 inch twist, which would likely rule out 100 grain bullets and maybe 95 grain.
 
Well Mr. K, I was thinking that a 243 that shot light bullets well, was probably exactly what you wanted, what with all those vicious gophers to protect yourself from.
Looks like no one will give you a guess, as to what their opinion is of value. Personally, I am no fan of the post '64 Model 70 Winchester rifles.
 
Yeah. That's about all they are worth. If only they were pre-64! Well, I'll have a good look at them soon.
