Ball powder for 30-06

Is it a secret one ?

SB

LOL!!! no, it is not. Go to Higginson's website and open the powder price list. Scroll down a couple of pages until you find surplus powders. Order 21 lbs of WC-735. (21lbs gets you free shipping and you will have about5 years of powder, if you shoot moderately like me).

Just make sure that you avoid using 760/H414 in M1 Garand's, I've read it raises heck with the op-rod.

I use BLC2 in my garand, works great.

H414 is the way to go if doing 165 grainers and heavier. WC735 is more for the light stuff.

Really, it throws 220s out of my Gewher 98 .30-06 like nobody's business. I have no complaints with this powder whether it is used in my 7.62x39mm with 110gn bullets, or the .303 with 215s, or the '06 with anything from 100 to 220gn. But that's me.

H414 is my number one with bigger bullets out of a springfield casing. (I use a 25-06, a .270 , and a .30-06 and I use H414 with all the bigger weight bullets in each class (117/120 grain in .25 cal, 150 grain in .270, and all my bullets over 165 grains in .30-06) I find it quite versatile, and as a bonus, I use it in extremely low temps up here in the north, and it has always been reliable.
