Hey, any good app for ballistics calculations? Or any helpful app at the range/field?

Just tried to do a search on the app store, on the free ones there is not something attracting, others are pricey, so I don't want to purchase without reviews...

I use Isnipe.

There are a few others, but have been pretty happy with Isnipe, especailly since updates come every once and awhile now.

I did not like AB for the Iphone. I think I had an early version so need to check if updates were made. It was fustrating to use. That's enough for me to give up on it. No reason AB shouldn't be spectacular. Especially at that price.

Ok thanks for the replies!
Ballistic seems to offer some target pictures storages and grouping measurements, are they useful and well made? I snipe seems great too.

I use Strelok Pro for Android. Cost about $14 I think (free version also available). I like it because it has a truing feature, can save data externally, and can also connect via bluetooth to weather meters from Kestrel and WeatherFlow.

I've been using bullet drop. Seems to work pretty good but it doesn't let you store settings on the free version at least. It's pretty basic but it welts you figure out drop and windage in mil, bmoa and inches based on all the regular input.

Semi-related question...

Does anyone know of a Mac OS or iOS app that can measure groups from photos of targets? I've seen pictures posted of such a thing, but they were obviously from a Windows/PC program. Both at work and at home, I live in a Mac world.

Same boat. The closest would be Applied Ballistics, it has a target portion built in.

Kind of. I've been playing around with an app for iOS on the side. It doesn't do much right now, but the idea is you select the shots, it will show you the centre of the group. When I have time I'll add in some numbers. Here's a YouTube
for the interested.

I actually found somewhat of a 'work around' for the mac/pc problem...

On Target has an older, no longer supported version that was ported into Mac OS - FREE!!! I'm not quite sure what the second link is/does, but I got there via the Apple website, so it seemed legit. Nevertheless, it allowed me to install & run On Target without having to partition my hard-drive and run Windows through Parallels or BootCamp.

Not a perfect solution, but it'll do until I bite the BULLET and SHELL out the cash for an app...
(double whammy of shooting related puns)

That would be awesome for triangulating the multiple 3 shot groups on an OCW test!!!

Nice find, downloading as I type.

I have AB and Ballistic:AE for iOS, and prefer Ballistic by a long shot at this point. AB is still in development, supposedly.

Ballistic:AE can give group size info from pics of targets. Here's an example:
