Hey guys,

Been using my .22lr rifle for practice instead of blasting my $$ down the barrel of my 6.5 precision rig and have really been getting into it.

Question I have is are there any good ballistic apps for .22lr?

I a found few ballistics apps that had little info for .22lr, some want an account setup, some are $20-$30 plus dollars etc....

I’ll buy the right app if it’s worth it but don’t want a bunch spam emails from the useless ones, so hoping someone on here has already has the right one that works.

Hawke Optics used to manage an application called Chairgun Pro, but stopped updating it more than 2 years ago. I still use it all the time, love it for all the wide range of visualizations and data points. Strelok's great too, but lacks the graph view which I find most useful, all the data one can get with a click on any point along a graphed trajectory... they're just different, so I use both for different things. Needs Java to run but I haven't found that to be a problem. Hawke no longer hosts the program on their site but it can still be found on various download sites for Mac or Windows or Android phones.

I tried Strelock some years back and maybe I never gave it enough attention, but I dropped it.

These days I've been using BallisticsArc.

I like how it can ping a nearby airport for weather values, but it can also ping a nearby Kestrel if you are at a match and they are within bluetooth range.

It can also be paired with a Weatherflow which are a fairly affordable wind and weather bluetooth sensor.

The free version of BallisticsArc works for only one rifle, but if you want to add rifles you need to buy it for about $15. Other than more rifles, the functionality is the same.

I just tried the strelok one last night and seems pretty good so I’ll see if it’s close this weekend. BallisticsARC I will look at too. At least they are both getting updated still.

Strelok has both of my scopes already so bonus, and if I buy it looks like I won’t need to manually load the ammo info either at least for the .22lr, I’ll just add the hand loads for 6.5 on the other one.

A bit late to the game here but +1 for Srelok Pro.

Their database of scopes/reticles/factory ammunition is very convenient. Cost of the app is minimal. Features and usability is great.

I just bought the Strelok Pro version and didn’t realise it had all the factory ammo in there so you don’t need to add it manually...way better and worth every cent! I’m quite happy with it.
