I was at the range yesterday with my HBAR. 1:8 twist. I had a couple boxes of Walmart special 45 gr and I bought a case of 62 gr Federals.

I got much better groups with the 45 gr - the 62 gr actually had some big flyers in every group but when I cleaned it up and put some 45 gr back in the groups tightened up again.

With the 1:8 twist should I not theoretically get better groups with the heavier ammo ???

There are a lot of factors that come into play - more than just twist - it's tough to generalize.

Probably the biggest factor being the guy behind the gun
