ballpark value

years back I inherited a 1952 Remington 870 Wingmaster in near perfect condition save for a small bink on the edge of the grip checkering.The mark is under the finish and looks like it may have been a factory flaw...
I've never fired it and I'm not sure the original owner ever did as it is very crisp and tight,not a mark on the blue etc.
I dated it by the barrel code to the third year of manufacture and believe it true because the receiver and barrel share the same serial #.
I need to put an honest price on it for insurance.
Anyone want to ballpark a value for me?

For insurance I'ld say $400. Wingmasters can be bought for $200 in good shape (just not in EE) Again this is only my 2 cents, AJ

Unless it is a limted run skeet or trap gun, I think the best you can do is new replacement cost for a wingmaster, which i think is about $500?

I don't think it's anything special...12ga 2 3/4 fixed full...alot nicer wood than my other 870.

Last year I put a 20ga wingmaster on EE boards had three buyers, first one owned it $495
it was a 99% original gun

I agree with the poster above, put it on EE for $1000, or insure it for it's real value, about $300.

if it's only worth $300,why try to sell it for $1000 in the EE?

Now even tho I wasn't planning on selling it,I would of course have to let it go for $1000

I just sold one in the EE in pretty good shape (some scapes and scatches for around $200)

sale value $350.

the older 2-3/4 wont be as appealing to some. A good reliable shotgun to keep and use though.
