Ban deer hunt in ontario

If the deer hunt in Ontario stopped, you would hit a deer on the road everytime you went anywhere. The people behind this must all live in Toronto.
 
I can't believe what people get away with in Ontario. If someone proposed that in Saskatchewan, the Premier would slash their tires and hire a few thugs to rough them up, and that is an NDP Premier I am talking about.

Sometimes I wish we could take all the commies, the anti guns and anti hunting activists and give them a small province of their own to run. They would have that place busted in no time. Then we could build a big wall around the place and fill it with water when they beg to come back.

Sounds like a PETA brainstorm, I'm not even threatened by it, in fact I think once Harper gets in I'm gonna start a petition to bring back the spring bear hunt, I think we've got enough of a name and member count around here to do some good and make the new gov't have a look.
 
First I've heard about it. I bet it's all the aging hippies and college students who are in need of "causes".

No sense in me preaching to the converted here, but thanks for the alert.
 
They voiced this in Georgia. I some parts of Georgia (USA) The deer population got so big that they were counting over 30 deer per mile There was no count on all the deer they didn't see. Anyhow the game department responded by throwing open a longer season with no requirement to record any limit. Guys I know were just shooting and filling freezers. Several backwoods old folk were supplied regularily with venison as hunters were shooting for the aged as well.

If you are going to bring back the spring bear hunt issue, contact Delta Waterfowl (A true pro hunting conservation group) They helped save the spring bear hunt in Manitoba. Definitely some good allies there.

Now as far as this announcement goes........
The Peaceful Parks Coalition (an alliance of animal rights organizations) has demanded a full environmental assessment of the entire deer management program of the Ontario MNR.

If the MNR does an assessment, you may actually gain a few tags from what I understand. Wouldn't that piss off the activists?

even the most idiotic Liberal/Bunny Hugger from the cesspool that is Toronto knows that there are places in Ontario where deer are pushing the envelope with thier population densities. Lanark county comes to mind.

Here is the letter I just wrote to COHA:

Dear Sir/Madam:

I have read your alert on the deer hunt ban, and have come to the conclusion that this will never happen. How would any provincial ministry or law enforcement agency ever enforce this. They can't, nor would they. The only reason the people let the spring bear hunt go( and some still do it anyway, they just don't have to pay for a license) is because it only affected a small number of people/businesses.

To ban deer hunting would be a huge waste of time, as EVERYONE I know that deer hunts will continue to deer hunt until they die, no matter if it is legal or not. The police/ministry can't be on every property all the time for the entire fall season. COHA should save their funds to use in a more sensible way, as the government of Ontario will surely use the revenue from the deer licenses to fund something other than banning deer hunting ( why would they throw away $10 million annually?):confused:

Me too! I can't see deer hunting coming to end. White tails are everywhere. Of course this is Ontario.

Thankfully, Election Less than Two Years Off!

More "save us from ourselves" stuff! Following this same line of reasoning we would NEVER eat another hamburg wit the Mad Cow thang in Alberta. My guess is that Premier Dalton McGinty has never EVER hunted a deer in his life.
