Bang For Your Buck! GunNutz weigh in!

I bought a glock 22 and it is great. Thought it might be too light for the 40 cal but you get used to that. Also got a 22 calibre barrel so I can plink alot and get used to the shooting without the expense of the 40 cal shells.

One think I was told about the Glock is always use brass coated so the action does not get gummed up. Always has worked great for me

With that budget the answer is probably something Glock, but perhaps a Norinco NZ85 with the change spent on getting Gunnar at Armco to tuning it up a bit. If you get into competition and don't do well you use the Norinco as an excuse and say you aren't that serious, but if you do well you can be smug and annoy the people who spent more than twice as much on a respectable brand. :nest:

ahah a man after my own heart. i'm the kind of guy who shows up to wild west cowboy shoots with a greatcoat, ushanka hat, mao zedong t-shirt with an SVT-40 on my back and TT33 on my hip and say

"VERE EES PARTY? I AM BRANG WODKA AND THERE EES NO TRAIN RIDINK IN SIBERIA? VAT EES GOINK ON?"
 
You made a good decison with the Glock, you wanted something easy to break down and easy to use and you have it now. Just remember the safety is between your ears , dont put a round in the chamber unless ready to fire, there is no external safety, keep that finger off the trigger untill ready to fire. The CZ isnt as easy to take down you have to pop a pin out to get the slide off, just google it. Most handguns out there you can find a review of them and a field strip video on youtube.
 
if you want to use it for target shooting and don't have to carry it all day on your belt, then go for an all steel/metal frame pistol
ie: SIG 226, Beretta 92FS, Spartan 1911, CZ 75B ... all in 9mm for cheap ammo

my personal choice in 9mm will be always the SIG 226 Elite stainless
