I've noticed some posters have the word " banned " in red under their names . Does that mean they were banned before and if so , how long do they have that label under their names . I'm just wondering as , obviously , if they are " banned " they wouldn't be posting , and , if they are no longer banned , why would they still be labelled as such ?
I'm a curious person and dont understand the label
Thanks all
Dana

X2.....I've been wondering the same thing.

They are banned. Therefore it is written banned under their name. The posts you see are previous to the ban. I would've never thought it could be so difficult to understand for some people, seems so obvious.

Hilarious! :D

Original Poster: there are various reasons you can get banned, see here:

See the "Terms of Use and General Guidelines" here:

Okay, thanks. However, this still doesn't explain the "Banned" under some names. They can still post and whatnot. So what are they banned from? Just the EE?? Also, how do you know if you've commited an infraction??

I don't believe that's the case. jus the other day I saw a banned person, who I"ve seen posts of before, and I remember when he/she was banned (for good reason too)....and they had posted that very day...which is why it doesn't seem so obvious. Seems odd that a banned person can continue to post.

Check the date and the time on the post that they made... it was most likely made before they were banned.
Also, they could have been banned for something they did some time ago.

Ban could have just happened. You could be reading a post in one thread and the member may have just been banned by a mod for something posted in anothe thread.

Might SEEM like they are still posting when banned.

Could also be a delay in the banning needed for moderator review of the situation

Mods inform you of infractions via private message.

The day I got my first infraction pm I truly felt like a full fledged member of CGN.

Some view them as badges of honor.

:D

i'M trying to find the one I saw the other day, because he's been banned for a long time. It's possible that I was looking at a thread that had been inactive until recently, so it may have seemed a recent post. What the heck was his name....like pDot or something.

There have also been a few very old threads brought up recently as well, with the beginning of the thread being old posts from a few years ago and newer posts from other users more recently.

THIS is the actual helpful reply. Way to be.
