Good day, I was a the range today with my browning bar 30-06 and couldn’t shoot like I wanted too and I had few spent case that didn’t completely ejected... so back home I noticed the fire hand was loose, I took it off but to investigate and I saw the buffer between the two plates at the end of the spring was totally broken appart with bits falling off! So my question is would the ejection issues related to that? I know the grouping issues was due to the loose fore hand or at least I think it is!!
Where can one find parts for an older BAR?
Thanks!

Ejection issues can be a few things but while you are at it buying the buffer, get a main action spring. Usually solves the problem along with a gas system cleaning. WGP has all the parts.

Back in the days when I had a BAR the only problem I had was when the gas system wasn't cleaned within the specified time period. If I remember correctly it was supposed to be done at around 600 rounds. In my case I got to about 1200 rounds before trouble started. Once I cleaned the gas system I never had another problem.

Thai you Jim, I will do a deep cleaning of everything when I take it appart to install the new parts!

Not intending a derail here, but what's the best way to clean the gas system?

Disassembly and scrubbing. I like to use a penetrating oil and bore brushes, then a degreasing agent to remove the carbon and crap loosened by the process.
Very light oiling (very light) on moving parts.

Got the arts today, thank you sir! I will get at it tonight maybe

Browning has an outlet in Quebec. They have all parts you'll ever need! Just call, give em' the serial number of the gun and parts will arrive. They even sometimes dont charge for shipping.

Thanks! Do you happen to have a name, a number, a link?

Got the BAR all de-assembled, change the parts for the new ones, cleaned it all nicely! Damn it is a great piece of engineering, take the entire thing apart with using tools really and no pins to push!! Hope I get to hit the range soon to see if the new parts fixed the problems...
