Barett mod 99

Anybody have any exposure to these?

A local operation just got distribution rights and has them on for $4300 ish with/ bipod / case / 27 moa rail, ( 29" pipe for a .50 or 32" for 416 Barret ). Thinking of moving some money around for the 416!.

Need the good, bad and they ugly before in take the plunge.

Yea after seeing the price I was hell bent on ordering one too but check out the Barrett thread here. It takes a pretty hard knocking as far as quality, fit and finish and a horrible 2.5 moa accuracy. I owned a Styer Hs.50 before and it was impressive although more money. I didn't like how the barrel attached to the receiver with about an inch overlap and two little 6mm bolts. Im not engineer but that seems like a lot of weight to be cantilevered over with such a small overlap and little bolts. It is kind of sad really, ever since i got into buying guns I always wanted two guns. A kick ass AR-15 and a Barrett 50cal. Its kind of like finding out your childhood hero was a drug addict or something haha. I might try my hand on the Barrett 98B instead.
