Barnaul Subsonic in Type 81 gas position 2

Anyone tried the “fouled” position 2 on the gas port and if there’s any chance of cycling Barnaul Subs in a Type 81? Expecting no… but sure would be a neat trick.

I havent tried the barnaul subs but I did try the Prvi subs and they would'nt cycle.

I have no knowledge of the T81, but I did work up a successful sub load that cycles the SKS.
Start with a CCI 250 magnum primer, toss in 15 grains of IMR 4198, and top it with a Speer Hot Cor .303 180 grain SP pressed down to book OAL.
Crimp fully.
Chronos at 1K FPS and is about as loud as a 9mm PCC running 147 subs.
I haven't gone past 50 yards yet, but figure the ballistics will be in the same ball park as the above 9mm or 300 Blackout subsonic.

My Type 81 ran fine on setting 1. The recoil from those subsonic rounds was similar to my WS-MCR in 5.56. Hope this helps.
