Hi
I just picked up some Barnes 168TSX bullets and to my surprise their reloading data doesn't list Varget as powder suitable for 308 or 30-06 reloading?
anybody has any experience in this combination/ Up to now I have only used varget as a powder of choice had some very good results with Sierra bullets and Berger but those were match bullets for precision shooting not hunting any help would be greatly appreciated

H4350 works great with that bullet in the 30-06. I've never loaded that bullet in the 308, but my best results with other 165 gr bullets was always with reloder 15. I always found varget came in a distant second to re15 in the 308.

.308 - Varget with 168 TSX - 41.0gr to 45.5gr (max)
Nothing listed in the Barnes manual for that weight with Varget.

Source - Barnes Reloading manual #4

Personally I find IMR 4064 in both .308 and .30-06 have been my best combinations with RE-15 a close second.

Barnes#4 data for 165 grainers can be used for 168 TTSXs (and 168 TSXs) and 165 TSXs. Most, if not all manuals, list the same loads for bullets of similar weightl (168g bullet data is the same as 165 grain bullet data). In the absense of high pressure indicators, stop when you reach the max charge OR the max velocity.
