How much Test Tube does it take to stop a 175gr LRX from a .300 WSM at 25yds? I don't know either!:D Max load of RL17, approx 3100fps. Next test will be at around 1600-1800fps to see if they are designed to open at lower velocity since they are marketed as a long range hunting bullet.

Look like it lost a petal.

Pretty sleek bullet even next to a 180gr Hornady SST.

What conclusion have you come to then? Do you consider that a good wound channel at 25 yds.? How do you think this would translate to a lung shot on a big game animal at the same 25 yd. range? How does this compare to what one would expect from another brand/type of bullet? I ask because a few years ago I did alot of comparative testing albeit using a much harder test medium.

It's too early to tell as I've just started playing with the Test Tube. Just like any/most testing material it doesn't duplicate a live animal but a way to compare bullets to each other.

Higher BC (.508) and supposed to be designed to expand at lower velocity since it's designed as a long range hunting bullet.
