Hello I'm looking for some advice I recently purchased a box of 70 Gr Barnes Triple shock X Bullets but for some reason they are tumbling at 100 Yards well not really tumbling but it isn't making a perfect hole and they are all over the target. I'm shooting them out of my Rem 700 Police in 223 it has 1 in 9 twist rate which should be lots as I know guys who are shooting 75 Gr Bergers out of there police. Does anyone have any loads for this bullet? Does anyone know if I push them faster if it will stabilize better? Any info is great. :sniper:

I know this is hard to believe, but that big yellow sticker on the front of the box that says "Recommended Twist 1:7 or 1:8" is there for a reason! :p The 70gr Barnes, being a solid copper bullet, is longer than other lead core bullets that weigh 70-75 gr. It is closer in length to an 80-90 gr bullet. It will not stabilize in your 1 in 9 twist.

Better yet call Barnes.. I would think that the 62 gr. tsx would work, but for the price they are selling for I would check it out first..
:)
