barnes bullet's in 270wsm?

the only real negitive i've come across with barnes bullets is ,

if your barrel has any rough spots in it , it will copper foul much faster than it should , and your groups will open up .

if that happens you may want to fire lapp your barrel to smoothen things out . ......

also any fouling that wouldn't effect a lead core bullet may cause fouling issue's with the x bullet , you need to make sure your barrel is squeeky clean . the older barnes reloading manuals went into great detail on barrel cleaning .

also , because the barnes bullets retain so much of their weight , you can go to a much lighter bullet than a normal lead core bullet .

hornady also makes a copy of the x bullet , but out of harder gilding metal alloy , called the gmx .

I have a 270 WSM and currently shoot the 130 gr TSX out of it. While I have only shot one elk with it, I was very impressed by the bullet's performance. I think that the 140 TSX would also be a good choice for this caliber and make a good elk / moose rifle.

Use the TTSX, and they will work great. Load to max mag length (checking that they are off the lands in your rifle) and RL25, 22, 19 or 17. All will work well. H4350, and H4831SC will work as well. I use RL19 with 130 TSX, and see no need to change.
