Barnes LRX 250 gr in 338 lapua with N570?

Hi guys,

I would like to try some new hunting loads for my 338 lapua (Desert tech 18 inch barrel, 1-9 twist). I'm waiting on some Barnes LRX 250 gr and I have N570 powder. I can't find any load data for it... When I'm looking at the vihtavuori reloading guide, they are mentionning N570 for lapua 250 bullet (86 to 96 gr) and N570 for Barnes 285 TSX (72 to 82 gr). I'm not quite sure I would start at 86gr with a monolitic bullet...

What do you guys are thinking? Any experience with that bullet + powder combinaison?

In the 2023 loading guide, I have found Barnes LRX 265 gr with N570 78,7 to 85,6 gr and Barnes LRX 285 with N570 77,9 to 85,2 g.
I think I'm gonna try something in the middle to start with (82 gr ) and work my load from there.
What do you think?

I have found that the 250 grain LRX produce much lower pressure than the 250 grain TSX in my .338 RUM. Keep that in mind as you may need to work up your load a little higher than what the Barnes loading manual indicates as the data they give is for all their 250 grain bullets.

Thank you for your reply. Here is a little update and it goes exactly with what you are saying.
I ended up working up my load up to 96 gn of N570 without any sign of overpressure.
I shoot 1 bullet per charge and was looking at the velocity. I'll try N570 95.8 gn for my next test. Velocity is around 2750 FPS with my 18 inches barrel, which is pretty nice

So, here is the final result of my load development
I ended up choosing a load of 95,7 gn of N570. Velocity is 2750 FPS with my 18 inches barrel
Accuracy is 0,5 MOA, which is perfect for this hunting load.
