Well as I search for a good sabot these three keep coming up. I have tried the Barnes with good resuults, but at over a dollar a shot I am looking for a better choice. I am curious about the pr dead center but you have to buy a ton of them to bring the cost below the barnes. This brings me to the sst which I am going to try this week in the 300 gr. If they hit the target I think they will be my choice as they are .50/ shot.

This brings up the question How many here have compared these three sabots ( any or all) and are any of them worth all the extra cash ?

PR bullet revamped their prices. The Dead Center is still brutally priced, but the Extreme Elite line is VERY reasonable by almost 1/2!!

If you look at the Extreme Elite Bullet and the Dead Center buller side by side - they appear to be the same bullet configuration except one doesn't have a polymer tip, therefore, not as cool.

I've been using Precision QT's in my Omega since I bought it and have had excellent results with it. My brother used it to take his buck at 170 lasered yards this year with a bang flop shot. After we did about a half mile stock on it and ran out of cover he didn't feel comfortable taking that shot with his Wolverine. So I handed him my rifle and told him where to hold, he made the perfect shot, through and through, broad side. I've never experimented much with different sabbots, only the SST's and when the previous mentioned Wolverine was mine I used solid lead Knight 310 grain hollow points. I liked the Knights, they did the trick, but didn't open up anywhere near what these QT's do. The buck I shot this year with it was only about 100 yards away, quatering forward, and with one well placed shot through the facing shoulder it exited through the off side taking out 4, yes 4 ribs with it, another bang flop. When my buddies saw the damage done from that shot they kidded me about using a high power rifle. The QT's have preformed very well for me, and I'll be sticking with them, and highly reccomend them to anybody looking for a good hunting bullet. Shooting three pellets of tripple seven under these bullets gives me a trajectory that pretty much matches my Trapdoor 45/70, so I have no problem taking a two hundred hard shot with my set up. The bullet weight I've been using, iirc without going to look, is 275 grain, it may be 285, but you get the idea. Good luck with what ever you choose:)
